Royal Copenhagen Current & Recent Figurines

ALL of the following figurines are in MINT CONDITION and FIRST QUALITY.  Sizes (in inches) may be the maximum dimension or may refer only to the height, even when the figurine is longer or wider than high.  

In 1987, Royal Copenhagen merged with Bing and Grondahl (B&G), the other leading Danish porcelain manufacturer.  Shortly thereafter, all figurines in production were given new three digit model numbers., and all new numbers have a four digit prefix that further identifies the figurine: 1020- for Animals or 1021- for People.   (I have substituted "Disc-" as a prefix below to identify discontinued figurines.) For example, Puppy Sitting (old #259) is now 1020-051.  The same molds are being used; the figurines are exactly the same; only the number on the bottom has been changed.  I provide both numbers for easier identification.

I have listed here all figurines that have the new numbers, incuding all currently produced figurines and those discontinued since the new numbers were introduced.  I have included the current MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price, aka "List Price") for all current figurines. For discontinued figurines, the last known MSRPs are shown in RED. (Since 2009, virtually ALL figurines have been discontinued. The few that are still CURRENT are so marked.)

Figurines discontinued prior to 1988 are on a separate list.  CLICK HERE for Discontinued Royal Copenhagen Figurines.  Figurines previously made by Bing and Grondahl on the separate Bing and Grondahl lists even though now made by Royal Copenhagen.  Figurines introduced since 1988 have no old number, and are indicated below by having the word "New" listed in the "Old #" column.

Factory Seconds:  Both Royal Copenhagen and B&G issued figurines that were marked as second quality by the factory (2nds).  These were indicated by a vertical scratch through the Royal Copenhagen three-wavy-line trademark, or a horizontal scratch across the three tower trademark of B&G.   I do not ship factory seconds; ALL figurines listed below are FIRST quality.

Price Guide:   In July, 2001, A Collector's Guide to Royal Copenhagen Porcelain (by Nick and Caroline Pope) was published by Schiffer Books. It is a large format, hard cover book containing approximately 900 color pictures.  It has the most complete listing and the best  price guide in print for older Royal Copenhagen figurines.  If you collect Royal Copenhagen figurines, you should definitely have this book.  Cover price is $49.95; I have it in stock for sale at $35 (the lowest price on the 'Net!)  As with any price guide, the prices shown reflect the opinions and experience of the authors.  Most of the data was gathered in England and Denmark prior to 2001, and converted to US dollars using the 2001 exchange rates.  As the years have passed since then; the dollar has seen a steep decline (causing many prices to rise), and Royal Copenhagen has had several price increases not reflected in this Price Guide.  You need to adjust prices upwards by 50% or more to account for the changes since 2001.

Price Increase March, 2009:  Royal Copenhagen raised prices again, mostly due to the higher costs of fuel and transportation.  (Energy for the kilns is one of their largest expenses.)  Almost all of the traditional underglaze figurines have been discontinued. A very few are available by special order (subject to a 10% surcharge in addition to the higher 2009 prices.)  On this entire page of approximately 175 "recent" figurines, fewer than a dozen are still part of the Royal Copenhagen product line for the US.
