B&G
Easter Plates (Plaques)
Bing & Grøndahl issued Easter Plates (also called Easter
Plaques) from 1910 to 1935, a total of 26 years. The Easter plates
are about the same size as a Christmas plate, but are convex rather than
concave. Each plate has a border consisting of a crown of thorns, the
date, and the word "Paasken", Danish for
Easter, related to the English word "pascal". The following
plates are mint condition; they were not issued with boxes or certificates.

Centennial items. Plus Aluminia
plates and Michelsen Christmas spoons. Fully

Related Items: B&G
made a few Easter plates from 1915 to 1919 that were concave rather than convex
and had no crown of thorns border; they look
almost exactly like Christmas plates except that they have the inscription
"Paasken" rather than "Jule Aften". They have
the same scene as the corresponding convex Easter plate, extended out to the
rim of the plate. B&G also made a few Easter vases at about this same
time, and Rosenthal issued some Easter plates in the 'teens and 'twenties that look
very much like Rosenthal Christmas plates, but with Spring themes rather than
Winter themes. I am interested in buying any of these items that become
available, or in any other information about the Rosenthal Easter plates.
