Books for Sale
Books for Sale: Good books on collectibles should pay for themselves many times over. Whether you are a collector or a dealer, it is important that you know what is available, when it was made, and what it is worth. If you are spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on plates or figurines, you owe it to yourself to be as informed as possible. These books should deepen your appreciation of your collection; help you to know what you are buying (pictures, sizes, years of production), and provide useful references when you sell or insure your collection.
Schiffer Books has published more books on collectibles than any other US publisher, and maintain highest standards. All the Schiffer books listed below are in the same format: hardcover, 8.5 inches wide by 11.25 inches high, printed on glossy paper and filled with high quality color photographs; they are the most current and the best available. Each contains a price guide, usually in the form of a price range ($50 to $75), since exact pricing for discontinued items is impossible. In each case, the prices shown reflect the opinions and experience of the authors; you may see prices that are higher or lower. The Schiffer books I sell are all brand new from the publisher. Each has a cover price of $49.95. I sell them essentially at cost ($35), because I think it is so important that collectors have these references available. Of course, I also hope they will encourage you to buy plates and figurines from me in the future!
