Phillips Exeter Academy Plates
by Wedgwood
Royal Cauldon (England) issued College Plates for a few schools in the 1930s, including Dartmouth College and Phillips Exeter Academy. When Royal Cauldon was bought out by Wedgwood , Wedgwood took over production of plates for these schools. In the early 1970's, Wedgwood issued this plate for Phillips Exeter Academy, showing the new Library, designed by Louis I. Kahn and completed in 1971. Transfer printed in red on a Queensware (fine earthenware) plate, 10 inches in diameter, with a custom designed border featuring the School Seal at the top of the plate.
