Bing & Grøndahl CM34
Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen 1909
Tivoli Gardens opened in 1843 on 15 acres in what is now downtown Copenhagen. It is the second oldest amusement park to survive essentially intact through the present day. The building featured on this plate was one of many that were burned by the Nazis in 1943 in an attempt to break the spirit of the Danish people. This plate was also made with the building hand-painted in tan under the glaze.
